When Ray H. went looking for a visor for a 1949 Chrysler project, he found it
attached to the hulk of another 1949 Chrysler. As he tells it, "The skeleton followed
me home". He bought it from a man who had brought it to Harselle from South Dakota.
When Ray decided to buy the whole car, the man loaded it up and hauled it to Huntsville
for him. Most folks would not have even seen this heap as a car, much less a project car,
but most people are not Ray. What might have served as a parts car for most car
enthusiasts became the winner of the 2008 Thomas Totcky Award for outstanding restoration.
Ray saw through the rust and deterioration and saw what no
one else could see until he proudly displayed the finished project. Congratulations, Ray!
