I found the roadster in our local newspaper. The fellow that owned it started to make a "driver" of the car but gave up after several years. I brought it home in boxes, literally.
The previous owner just painted over a lot of bad repairs and with the wrong color for the
year. I did a complete frame off rebuild of every part and sub-assembly. the engine had to
be completely rebuilt, all body parts needed work, and new upholstery, tires, and top were
required. I was blessed to have the help of two club members to paint the roadster,
Andy Washko (fenders) and Perry Lewis (body).
The restoration took me two years working in a one-car basement workshop. I finished just
in time to attend the AACA Southeastern Special Spring Meet in Lebanon, TN, June 13th of
2009, and the roadster won its First Junior. I hope to make another National Meet in 2010.
